A Summer Celebration of Forever | Ripley & Michael’s Wedding
Some love stories feel like they were written in the stars—others start just across the street. Ripley and Michael's story began as childhood neighbors, when a playful joke from departing neighbors predicted that someone from the new family might end up with one of Ripley’s siblings… or Ripley herself. And wouldn’t you know it—that prediction turned into an 11-year love story culminating in one beautiful, sun-drenched July wedding at Gloryview Farm in Wasilla.
Their wedding day was full of warmth, joy, and heartfelt intention. Under the golden Alaskan sun, Ripley and Michael exchanged vows in a sweet unplugged ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends. With phones tucked away and hearts fully present, their ceremony was a genuine moment of connection—no distractions, just love.
One of my favorite parts of the evening came during the reception, when instead of a traditional bouquet toss, the couple chose a dance floor moment that honored love in a truly timeless way. Married couples were invited out to dance, and as the DJ began calling out years—“If you’ve been married 5 years, 10 years, 15…”—couples slowly stepped away until only one pair remained. The couple who had been married the longest shared the dance floor alone, their quiet endurance celebrated and applauded. It was such a thoughtful and emotional way to honor the generations of love that paved the way for this new beginning.
Throughout the day, it was clear that Ripley and Michael are most comfortable just being themselves. Their laughter comes easily and often, rooted in a deep sense of comfort and openness with each other. Whether they’re relaxing at home with their two pups, visiting family, or supporting each other in quiet ways, they’ve built a life full of authenticity and trust.
Michael—though on the quieter side and not a fan of big crowds—tackled the excitement of a wedding with grace. And while he joked about needing to “prepare” for the big kiss in front of everyone, the moment was just as sweet (and camera-ready!) as any romantic could hope for.
What makes them unique isn’t just the longevity of their love or the fact that they’ve already spent six years building a home together—it’s how their story has stayed rooted in friendship, comfort, and loyalty since the very beginning.
Ripley and Michael’s wedding was an incredible reflection of who they are—full of heart, laughter, and surrounded by people who clearly adore them both. It was an honor to document this beautiful summer day and their next chapter.
