Mountain-Top Proposals, Puppy Love, and a Wedding to Remember — Jamie & Joseph at The Wilmington

Some love stories are written in the stars—Jamie and Joseph’s was written in the mountains.

They first connected on Tinder (as all great modern romances do!) and quickly discovered a shared love for adventure, pretty views, and all things Alaska. Jamie, a lifelong Alaskan, and Joseph, who moved from a small Missouri town thanks to the military, began building a life together full of travel, laughter, and spontaneous date nights in a small town with big charm.

One unforgettable adventure led them to the top of the Mt. Healy Overlook Trail, where Joseph proposed—and Jamie, in a whirlwind of excitement, almost knocked them both off the mountain. (Don’t worry—they made it down safely, ring and all!)

From that day on, they dove into wedding planning with the same energy and joy they bring to everyday life. Over the following months, they adopted their sweet Hound puppy, Moose, who quickly became a beloved part of their little family. Moose goes everywhere with them and fits right in with their love of exploring trails, chasing sunsets, and finding those postcard-perfect views Alaska is known for.

When they’re not on adventures, Jamie and Joseph have a quiet rhythm to their love—one that feels steady and comforting. “I love that we don’t have to talk,” Jamie says. “We can spend quality time together at home or at a restaurant without having to carry on an ongoing conversation the entire time. We’re just there for each other, without being overbearing.”

They’re the kind of couple who can dress to the nines for a fancy date night in a casual small-town diner just for the fun of it, but also totally embrace last-minute sweats-and-ice-cream nights or walks along the Forest Trails. They eat dinner while watching Master Chef, NCIS, Survivor and love putting in the effort to make everyday life feel special.

Their wedding day at The Wilmington Wedding Venue on September 23, 2023, was no exception.

The venue was glowing with early fall colors, and their celebration felt warm, intimate, and joy-filled from start to finish. Jamie and Joseph shared a private first look—an emotional, quiet moment before the party kicked off. Then in true Alaskan style, the entire wedding party gathered for celebratory shots before the ceremony, because of course they did!

The day unfolded with laughter, heartfelt toasts, and dancing that carried into the night. There were little personal touches everywhere, and the atmosphere was one of pure joy and genuine love. You could feel how much thought and excitement they’d poured into this day—every detail reflected their relationship, from the big moments to the smallest glance between them.

Weddings like this remind me why I adore what I do. Jamie and Joseph’s day was beautiful, relaxed, and full of personality. It didn’t just celebrate their wedding—it celebrated the life they’ve already built together and the adventures still ahead.

Jamie & Joseph, thank you for letting me be a part of your story.
Here’s to Moose, mountain trails, and making every little moment feel like an occasion. 💛🐾🍂
