Wildflowers, Sunshine & Swiping Right | Katie + Jon's Government Peak Chalet Wedding

Some love stories start in unexpected places—Katie and Jon’s began on Tinder! One was from Alaska, the other from Connecticut, and somehow the universe brought them together in the middle of North Dakota. From that first swipe, their adventure took off—through hikes, camping trips, ski trails, and eventually to Puerto Rico, where Jon proposed while visiting family. (Romantic and tropical? Yes please.)

When I asked them what makes them laugh, their answer was simple: just being goofy together. They love being outdoors, soaking up the peace and adventure that nature brings. Cross-country skiing, backpacking, hiking—if it’s outside, they’re in. Their love isn’t about being flashy or overly complicated. It’s about the real stuff: showing up, loving each other well, and sharing the quiet and the chaos of life together.

On Saturday, June 21st, they said "I do" in the most Alaska way—surrounded by mountains, wildflowers, and sunshine so golden it felt like the whole world was rooting for them. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect: 67 degrees, just enough cloud cover to keep us cool, and that warm, glowy light that makes everything feel extra magical.

Katie and Jon tied the knot at the Government Peak Chalet in Palmer, Alaska, with a view that’ll make your jaw drop. Katie’s dad walked her down the aisle (cue the happy tears), and Jon’s eyes never left her. The ceremony was officiated by Katie’s brother-in-law, making it extra meaningful and personal.

From start to finish, Katie was full of grace, calm, and pure joy. She had the kind of presence that made the whole day feel effortless and full of heart. Every detail—down to the wildflowers and her mom’s handmade cake—reflected her and Jon’s connection and the people they love most.

And let’s talk about their wedding party for a second—because they were nothing short of a party! Seriously, every single person brought the energy, the laughter, and the best vibes. They were totally down for any idea I threw their way, including (my personal favorite) basket tossing Jon during groomsmen photos. Yes, you read that right. It was chaos in the best way, and I was so here for it.

Their vows? OH MY HEART. They promised to love each other not just through life’s beautiful moments, but through the hard ones too. It was honest, emotional, and so them.

Katie and Jon—thank you for letting me be part of your day. From swiping right to wildflower-covered “I do’s,” your love story is one for the books.
